So there are only 12 magazines left!
by stuckinarut2 inok, so hot on the heels of the announcement at the agm, we have been told that there are probably only 12 magazines left!.
yes, there will be only 3 wt each year, and 3 awakes.... and that they will do this for two years, then reprint those issues.... so yes, the "abundance of spiritual food" is limited to 12 more magazines..... surely, this is proof of the end coming so soon!?!

2017 Annual Meeting
by Jules Saturn inthis just in from the 2017 annual meeting:.
1. watchtowers and awakes won't be released regularly, at least three watchtower and awakes per year.
6 magazines a year.. 2. a new book is being released: remain in god's love, more of an update like how they did for the what does the bible really teach book.

One more new light becoming 'old darkness'
by Ray Frankz inwell, we are studying the book of daniel in the meetings now, and this week was the reading about the four beasts and the goat etc.. i got suprised that the sources didn't include any page of the wt book pay attention to daniel's prophecy,.
my only guess is that they have already changed something too big to take the risk of a average witness go searching and start to make questions about their allegedly inspiration..

Ah the Daniel prophecy book. When I was finding out how the WT was doing a sleight of hand job with the prophecies found in daniel, it was this book that showed how they implied the coming of jesus (and doing nothing) and his taking action in the future.
I'm sure it is a quiet shuffle off to oblivion for Daniel's prophecy book.

Halloween/holidays
by Jules Saturn indidn't know exactly which subject area to put this under, but i was curious about what you guys do around this time for holidays, particularly halloween.
my view on halloween in particular has always been as this pagan, demonic celebration.
even now that i discovered ttatt i still feel the same way i do about halloween, i don't ever think it's something i'd celebrate.

When I was a kid, our track had every house decorated and there was a steady parade of kids getting candy. Not us of course.
Now days younger kids go to their school and get candy from different classrooms. I don't really care for all the gruesomeness that seems popular with the teens.
But I don't have any desire to do the holidays because we never did it. It has no meaning for me. The closet "holiday" for me is thanksgiving. Mainly because turkey was cheap and my grandma loved eating it. She wasn't a witness and she never made a big fuss about it being a "holiday" So I'd cook it at her house and we'd get stuffed.

Debating a Christian at work.

i like the guy and consider him a friend and have been politely trying to avoid the subject.
i have recently decided that enough is enough and i told him i would discuss religion with him.

Does the person you are going to speak to, like a lot of data? I would find it difficult to listen to but then, I am a more visual person. I would sum it up as, putting the cart before the horse. The light before the sun. Haha I think it is too late at night for me to give a proper answer.

Yes I said that a few times. The thing is, except for one or two friends, I didn't do anything with people after the meetings or service. Sundays were wrecked if you had the second meeting at 12 or 1:00. Saturday - after forcing yourself out in service, you barely had half a day to recover.
The majority of the people you knew in the "truth" were only encountered at the meetings. A strange life indeed.

My mother said the same thing, but her's is on Sunday. Since she doesn't want to mention JW stuff now, (we are taking care of some things for her, us faders you know) I was surprised when she said that specifically. Sounds like it is several hours worth.
She's all nervous and said it with that "SOMETHING IMPORTANT WILL BE ANNOUNCED" voice.

What Could Jehovah’s Special Provision Be to Save His People From the Wicked Watchtower Society?
by MADMARY ini was baptized as one of jehovah witnesses in 1986. then in 2003, i disassociated myself officially with a letter.
but i did not stop reading the bible or believing in god.
but i have noticed everyone’s reaction here is very different to the great wickedness of the watchtower society.. some of us do not believe in god anymore, and threw their bibles away completely.

Well I've slowly given up on belief in the bible but, one thing I said to my exfriend jw is - if it was God's organization he would have sent out a prophet to warn them to change their ways. I said this because she had admitted there were teachings that weren't right etc.
One of things that showed me that they weren't chosen by God in 1918-1919 was a thorough study of Daniel and Revelation against the WT's Daniels book of prophesies and Revelation the Grand Climax book. Not only did it show that they got it wrong, but that they knew it. They know they are not the "two witnesses" (at least those who had a hand in writing the two WT books)
I say that as background to my next answer. Being that they are no different than any other religion that claims they got it right, or country or government that claim that they are for people when they in fact just use and abuse them - you might say "Who will save mankind from other humans?"
